BURKERT ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY SENSOR

The Burkert electrical conductivity sensor is used to obtain measurements of the electrical conductivity of water used in agricultural irrigation. Its readings enable the irrigation controller to control the fertilizer injection. This is how irrigation water with optimal salt content is obtained.

Specifications of the conductivity sensor for water

  • Connects the Electrical Conductivity Sensor to the Maher Probe Transmitter so that the controller can interpret and act on the data received
  • Injecting fertilizer into the irrigation system increases the water’s electrical conductivity. This sensor is used in agriculture to use the optimal amount of fertilizer that the plant needs at all times To do this, a target conductivity value is established in the controller based on the crop cycle type and phase. The amount of fertilizer used in each of the tanks can also be configured, whether calcium, phosphorus, nitrogen, etc. When the target conductivity value is reached, the irrigation controller stops injecting fertilizer.
  • This sensor integrates graphite electrodes. It integrates a pt1000 as standard for automatic temperature compensation. The Burkert electrical conductivity sensor is supplied with a standard plug according to EN175301-803. For the connection, a 4×1.5 mm2 shielded cable must be used (cable length: max. 10 meters).
